The shortage of skilled labor is one of the quantum computing sector’s greatest challenges. The week-long tutorials program with 16 tutorials by leading experts is aimed squarely at workforce development and training considerations. These tutorials are ideally suited to develop quantum champions for industry, academia, government, and build expertise for emerging quantum ecosystems. Virtual IEEE Quantum Week will cover a broad range of topics in quantum computing and technologies including a lineup of fantastic hands-on tutorials on programming and applications.

Registration: Tutorial Speakers and Authors must be duly registered for QCE20 by September 30, 2020 (more instructions to follow). The Advance Registration deadline for QCE20 attendees is September 30, 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, QCE20 is now a virtual-only or digital-only conference. A QCE20 Tutorial consists of three 1.5-hour sessions in a dedicated digital room. Of course, there are many ways on how to orchestrate a 4.5-hour tutorial.
Virtualization Platform: QCE20 will use the Hubb Virtualization or Digital Conference Platform to deliver over 270 hours of QCE20 programming. Each QCE20 Workshop will have one Digital Room (a Zoom room) for streaming pre-recorded presentations, hosting interactive sessions (e.g., Q/A sessions, hands-on exercises, or discussions). The default capacity for each workshop, tutorial, and paper-track will be 100 people with at most 50 personal attendee videos simultaneously being displayed.
Schedule: During the week of October 12-16, 2020, each QCE20 Tutorial is assigned to a specific day and fixed schedule for which to prepare the tutorial agenda. Each tutorial will have three 1.5-hour scheduled sessions in the Mountain Time Zone from 10:45-12:15, 13:00-14:30, and 15:15-17:00. The 45-minute gaps between these three sessions are reserved for Exhibits, Posters, Birds of a Feather, Networking sessions, and other highly interactive events.
Format: QCE20 Tutorial presentations may either be pre-recorded or presented live, but discussions and Q/A sessions are expected to be live and moderated. The agenda may include a mixture of recorded and interactive sessions (e.g., hands-on sessions), at the discretion of the tutorial instructor. QCE20 recommends that each 1.5-hour tutorial session consists of a pre-recorded video presentation of approximately one hour followed by an approximately 30-minute session of interactive Q/A and/or hands-on exercises. Thus, we kindly ask Tutorial presenters to provide pre-recorded videos for their Tutorials of approximately one hour for the three different 1.5-hour sessions for effective and uniform streaming by following the Final Digital Recording and Uploading Guidelines.
Recording: All QCE20 sessions will be recorded. Registered attendees can play recordings of missed sessions or replay exciting sessions until November 30, 2020. QCE20 volunteers and virtualization platform company staff will be responsible for recording the QCE20 sessions.
Copyright and Consent Release forms: QCE20 will collect the regular IEEE Paper Copyright form from all the paper authors as well as abstract authors for Tutorials, Workshops, Panels, and Posters. For presenters, QCE 2020 will collect the QCE20 Presentation Consent and Release form to be uploaded with the video as outlined in the Final Digital Recording and Uploading Guidelines.
Onboarding: By Oct 5, QCE20 will provide instructions for attendee onboarding for the virtualization environment. Registered attendees will obtain an account and a digital presence. Attendees should complete this step a few days before the conference starts. By familiarizing themselves with the QCE20 program, virtual conference structure, and conference rooms, attendees will be able to enjoy the 270+ hours of QCE20 programming readily and effectively.
