Panels — Final Digital Presentation Guidelines
IEEE Quantum Week Panels feature enlightening and impactful discussions among experts on different perspectives of quantum topics, including quantum education & training, quantum hardware & software, quantum engineering challenges, fault-tolerant quantum computers, quantum error correction, quantum intermediate language representation, hardware-software co-design, and hybrid quantum-classical computing platforms. The length of each panel is 45-90 minutes.
Final Digital Presentation Guidelines for Panel Organizers
As a QCE20 Panel organizer, please visit this page regularly for updates on how to orchestrate your QCE20 Digital Panel for the week of October 12-16, 2020. The Advance Conference Program is published.
If you have any questions regarding Panels, please contact QCE20 General Chair Hausi Muller hausimuller@gmail.com
Registration: The Panel Author or Panel Organizer Registration deadline is November 15, 2020. The Advance Registration deadline for QCE20 attendees is November 12, 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, QCE20 is now a virtual or digital-only conference. A panel is allocated a minimum of 45 minutes and a maximum of 90 minutes in the program.
Virtualization Platform: QCE20 will use the Hubb Virtualization or Digital Conference Platform to deliver over 270 hours of QCE20 programming. Each QCE20 Workshop will have one Digital Room (a Zoom room) for streaming pre-recorded presentations, hosting interactive sessions (e.g., Q/A sessions, hands-on exercises, or discussions). The default capacity for each workshop, tutorial, and paper-track will be 100 people with at most 50 personal attendee videos simultaneously being displayed.h
Schedule: During the week of October 12-16, 2020, each QCE20 Workshop is assigned to a specific day and fixed schedule for which to prepare the workshop agenda. Each panel will have 45-90 minutes scheduled session in the Mountain Time Zone from 10:45-12:15, 13:00-14:30, or 15:15-17:00. The 45-minute gaps between these three sessions are reserved for Exhibits, Posters, Birds of a Feather, Networking sessions, and other highly interactive events.
Format: Of course, there are various panel formats. However, by-and-large Panels are highly interactive sessions with short position statements by the panel moderator and the panelists followed by lively Q/A discussion with the audience. Each panel is allocated a digital meeting room (i.e., Zoom room) with a default capacity of 100 attendees. A panel is allocated a minimum of 45 minutes and a maximum of 90 minutes in the program. The entire live panel session will be recorded. Registered QCE20 attendees will be able to view and re-view the full panel recording throughout the conference and until the end of November 2020.
Recording: All QCE20 sessions will be recorded. Registered attendees can play recordings of missed sessions or replay exciting sessions until November 30, 2020. QCE20 volunteers and virtualization platform company staff will be responsible for recording the QCE20 sessions.
Copyright and Consent Release forms: QCE20 will collect the regular IEEE Paper Copyright form from all the paper authors as well as abstract authors for Tutorials, Workshops, Panels, and Posters. For presenters, QCE 2020 will collect the QCE20 Presentation Consent and Release form to be uploaded with the video as outlined in the Final Digital Recording and Uploading Guidelines.
Onboarding: By Oct 5, QCE20 will provide instructions for attendee onboarding for the virtualization environment. Registered attendees will obtain an account and a digital presence. Attendees should complete this step a few days before the conference starts. By familiarizing themselves with the QCE20 program, virtual conference structure, and conference rooms, attendees will be able to enjoy the 270+ hours of QCE20 programming readily and effectively.
Again, please watch this space for more instructions as we transition to the digital platform. Thanks for all your patience, help, and support in making Digital QCE20 a great success.
